Preserve Annotation Markup after Upgrade

Modified on Fri, Feb 14 at 3:22 PM

There have been improvements made to Prizmdoc v14.3 and later that improves the upgrade process for documents with markup layers created in v13.xx.

V14 includes improvements to fidelity and rendering that may cause some documents to display differently than in v13. In the case of documents with markup layers this may be undesirable since markup content will not move.

For customers with stored markup layers for their documents, our recommended upgrade process is to create PDF-only viewing packages for documents with stored markup using the same parameters used to create viewing sessions for those documents.

After upgrading to v14.3 viewing sessions can be created from the created viewing packages to preserve rendering as it was in v13.xx and prevent mismatch between document content and markup.

This process is only necessary for documents with existing markup layers. If you do not have documents with existing markup layers, this will not affect you.

We always recommend upgrading to the most recent version of Prizmdoc. If you have documents with markup we would strongly recommend upgrading directly to v14.3, as the feature to properly associate markup with the created viewing packages is not present in v14.1 or 14.2.
