What are some known breaking changes between PrizmDoc version 13.28 and version 14?

Modified on Mon, Aug 26, 2024 at 10:33 PM

There are three main changes customers should be aware of when upgrading from version 13 to version 14:

  1. Database Requirement
    • As of 14.1, the use of a Central Database is now required. This change is being made to eliminate server affinity in a future release. See Configure the Central Database for more information.

    • MySQL 8.0 is the only database currently supported

  2. New License Required for version 14
    • v13 licenses will not work with v14+

    • Existing customers will need to reach out to their account manager to receive a new license for version 14

    • There is no additional cost for receiving a v14 license from your account manager

  3. Upcoming Deprecation of Affinity Tokens
    • This has not yet been officially deprecated as of 14.2, but this deprecation is planned for a future version of PrizmDoc 14

    • We are moving towards eliminating the local cached data that makes server affinity necessary
