PrizmDoc Viewer currently requires exact spacing when searching for Asian characters and numbers. This means that in a PDF that includes "2020 年 4 月 20 日", searches for "2020年 4月 20日" will be successful, but searches for "2020 年 4 月 20 日" will not in a text that includes "2020 年 4 月 20 日" .
The issue is due to how the current version of PrizmDoc treats white spaces between Asian characters and numbers, and how the search engine takes this into account when performing matching for the exact word or phrase. The current version expects the exact match between those. PDF documents commonly use absolute positioning of text and, instead of including a space character in a string, position the next character further from the previous one.
PrizmDoc Viewer uses heuristics to determine where space characters should be present, based on the distance between characters.
Alternative Solution:
Our alternative Hybrid Viewing mode handles spacing differently and allows for extra spaces in exact match searches. If you require more flexible spacing in your searches, consider using Hybrid Viewing mode.
